How to Choose Paper Napkins by Colour

Choosing napkins by colour is one of the easiest ways to pull a table together. You do not need an exact match: repeating a tone already present in plates, glassware, flowers or food is usually enough.

Green and olive paper napkins

Green works across the year. Sage and olive sit comfortably with cream ceramics, clear glass and natural wood. Browse green paper napkins, including Olive, Olive Check and Fennel Check.

Terracotta and orange paper napkins

Warm burnt orange and terracotta work particularly well with autumn food, darker wood and candlelight. See orange paper napkins and the Autumn Collection.

Brown and neutral napkins

Brown, oat and cream make a quieter base and are useful when the rest of the table already has plenty of pattern. Espresso Check and Oat Check bring those tones into the smaller cocktail format.

Use contrast rather than matching everything

A coral Lobster napkin can be the one warm accent on a pale table; a green napkin can give contrast to terracotta ceramics. Colour is most useful when it gives the table a direction rather than a rigid rule.
